HUGE WIN BY BAK DA MAN AT SALE

Bak Da Man (Reliable Man x Bak da Princess)

showed his true ability when stepping out on

the turf at Sale on Sunday with a huge near

last-to-first win in the Growmaster Sale Maiden

Plate (1600m).

The Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr trained

gelding was unwanted in the market after a

lacklustre debut on the synthetic track at

Pakenham back on the 4th August, but his true

colours shone through today in what was clearly a different horse back on turf.

Jockey Jye McNeil commented to the syndicate post race "I thought it was quite an impressive turnaround from the first up run, obviously on the grass on a good surface, he travelled really comfortably in the back of the field."

"We were just looking to finish off really nicely but he quickened up very sharp for me today and was a real little racehorse as well in amongst other horses. He's quite encouraging moving forward and the experience will do him fantastic"

Bak Da Man was a $100,000 purchase from the NZB Ready To Run Sale from the draft of Leanach Lodge. He is the 184th winner for Westbury Stud's top stallion Reliable Man, and he is the 8th winner from 8 runners for his super producing dam Bak da Princess, who has already produced G1 winner Pondarosa Miss and the Group 1 placed Ecuador. He is also related to the close resembling Te Akau Shark.

Congratulations to all involved, the 3yo son of Reliable Man looks to have a bright future ahead of him with plenty of maturity and improvement still to come!
