JACK BRUCE
One of Queensland Racing's Fastest Rising Training Talents
Jack Bruce has rapidly established himself as one of Queensland racing's most exciting and progressive young trainers, building an impressive reputation for his exceptional horsemanship, astute race placement and ability to maximise the potential of every horse in his care.
New Zealand born and internationally educated, Bruce brings an outstanding combination of practical experience, innovative thinking and an ambition to succeed at the highest level.
A graduate of the prestigious GODOLPHIN FLYING START PROGRAM, Bruce developed his skills working alongside some of Australia's most successful trainers, including CHRIS WALLER, CIARON MAHER, DAVID EUSTACE and BJORN BAKER.
Before launching his own training operation in 2022, Bruce was entrusted with managing the Sydney stable of Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, gaining invaluable experience in elite stable management, horse development and race preparation.
That exceptional grounding has provided the foundation for a remarkable rise through the Queensland training ranks.
A METEORIC RISE THROUGH THE QUEENSLAND RANKS
Since establishing his own stable in May 2022, Bruce has transformed a fledgling operation into one of Queensland's most promising racing establishments.
The 2025/26 racing season was his most successful yet, with an outstanding 83.5 Queensland premiership wins, placing him fifth in the statewide trainers' premiership. He also finished ninth in the highly competitive Brisbane metropolitan premiership, recording 28 city victories at an impressive 15.2% strike rate.
His early success at stakes level came with AXE, winner of the 2022 Listed Weetwood Handicap, while EARN TO BURN provided another important milestone with victory in the 2026 Listed Queensland Day Stakes at Eagle Farm.
These achievements are particularly impressive for a trainer who only commenced his independent career four years ago, and demonstrate the speed at which he has established himself among Queensland's leading horsemen.
OUTSTANDING FACILITIES AND INDIVIDUALISED TRAINING
Bruce's expanding operation is based at EAGLE FARM and DEAGON, providing access to two outstanding but contrasting training environments.
His Eagle Farm headquarters places the stable at the heart of Brisbane metropolitan racing, with access to extensive grass and sand training tracks, swimming facilities and modern training infrastructure.
At Deagon, the quieter and more relaxed surroundings provide an ideal environment for horses that benefit from a change of scenery, individual attention and a less demanding daily routine.
Bruce also incorporates beach work, deep sand conditioning, treadmill exercise and alternative training methods, recognising that different horses respond to different environments and preparation techniques.
This flexibility allows him to tailor training programs to individual horses rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach, an important advantage when preparing both young, developing thoroughbreds and established racehorses.
A SPECIAL TALENT FOR REJUVENATING TRIED HORSES
Of particular interest to IMPORT RACING is Bruce's ability to identify untapped potential in tried horses and transform them into successful Queensland performers.
His patient approach, astute race placement and willingness to give horses a change of environment have already produced some outstanding results.
A striking example is EVERYBODY RISE, a tried horse purchased for just $75,000 who flourished under Bruce's care. After being given time to settle into his new surroundings, the gelding embarked on a remarkable five-race winning streak, progressing from provincial success to victory at metropolitan level at Eagle Farm.
It is precisely this ability to recognise opportunity and extract the very best from established racehorses that makes Bruce such an attractive training partner.
AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR IMPORT RACING OWNERS
At Import Racing, we recognise that successful racehorse ownership is not simply about purchasing the right horse. It is equally important to place that horse with a trainer who understands its individual needs and can identify the most suitable racing opportunities.
Jack Bruce's combination of elite international education, experience with Australia's leading trainers, outstanding facilities and proven success with tried horses makes him an excellent fit for our ownership model.
His understanding of the Queensland racing landscape provides exciting opportunities for horses sourced from interstate, while his commitment to communication and individualised training ensures owners remain closely involved in their racing journey.
For Import Racing owners, Jack Bruce offers the opportunity to become involved with one of Queensland's most exciting emerging stables, a young trainer with outstanding credentials, proven results and the ambition to reach the very top of Australian racing.
