We have picked up another superb colt at the recent Magic Millions National Yearling Sale (now 2yo's); a super impressive type by resident NZ stallion Reliable Man.

The colt was bred, born & raised in NZ but was flown out to Australia specifically for this sale, so we are saving quite a few dollars on importation fees already, which is a big bonus.

His sire Reliable Man was one of the most exciting European Imports to hit our shores before his racing career was cut short due to injury.

He was a Group 1 winner in both hemispheres winning the Gr.1 CHANTILLY PRIX DU JOCKEY CLUB as a 3yo in the northern hemisphere, and winning the Gr. 1 QUEEN ELIZABETH STAKES at Randwick. Only the great mare WINX has ran a faster time than RELIABLE MAN in the Gr.1 ATC QUEEN ELIZABETH STAKES in the past 22 years.

Reliable Man hails from a Derby producing sire line with 5 generations of Derby winners. He is the sire of last season's impressive Gr.1 VRC Oaks winner MIAMI BOUND, Gr.1 New Zealand Oaks winner SENTIMENTAL MISS, Gr.1 VRC Victoria Derby runner-up Sully, as well as Gr.1 placed Belle du Nord, Hypnos and Aalaalune.

This colt has a huge pedigree behind him (see attached) that just screams Derby Prospect. He is out of the 5 time city winning Redoute's Choice mare The Warrior Woman, who is a full-sister to Gr.1 Australian Oaks winner ROYAL DESCENT, earner of over $2.7m dollars!

By an Oaks and Derby producing stallion, out of a full-sister to an Oaks winner, this colt has Derby, Derby, Derby written all over him!

Now to the physique of this colt. He is just an out and out athlete! He is of good size and is a very athletic, well balanced and fluent moving horse. He has good proportion from his hip to shoulder, and a good length of reign. He is correct in his conformation and he vetted up clean as Low Risk.

He will be trained by Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr in Melbourne who

continue to be in red hot form. They finished 3rd on the Victorian

Trainer’s Premiership last season and are currently sitting 2nd early on

in the new season. Their new training partnership has been a huge

success and the addition of the Warrnambool beach stables is proving

to be highly successful with many winners coming out of there, as well

as from Caulfield.
