Fifty Calibre produced a sharp turn of foot to win at the Sunshine Coast today, scoring by 0.5 lengths at just his second start for new trainer Jack Bruce Racing
Despite settling well back in the field, he travelled comfortably throughout.
Approaching the home straight he was still giving the leaders a sizeable start, but patient riding from Jag Guthmann‑Chester proved the difference.
Once the run presented, Fifty Calibre surged through, accelerating to break his maiden in style.
Congratulations to Connections
Following a super run in town last start, he stepped up to the mile and proved too strong late.
A maiden no longer and will get better as the distances increase.
